Floating Yoga
Local SEO Campaign
The Problem
Floating Yoga was a new yoga business offering group classes across the seaside town of Herne Bay, Kent. Despite a DIY website, Floating Yoga wasn’t visible on Google, so they weren’t booking classes.
As a micro-business, the homepage of a website is an ideal “service” page, so it should contain information about offer, the benefits and how to get started. However, in this case, the homepage was more or less an about page, which meant it didn’t contain sufficient information about yoga to perform on Google.
A new Google Business Listing was created, but very little had been done aside from the stating the business name and some contact details.

The Solution
We researched keywords for the homepage, but only discover two of any value. Search volume and competition were very low, but that wasn’t a concern as Floating Yoga appeared to be the only business offering yoga classes.
We optimised the homepage as per our SEO Services Kent for these keywords by writing new content; we highlighted the key benefits of yoga and added the details of various venues used throughout Herne Bay.
Floating Yoga had very few images, but those that we had, we optimised with keywords and geo-location data before uploading to the website and Google Business Listing. In addition, we submitted the business details to a number of local directories and yoga-specific directories.
To support Floating Yoga reduce admin, we researched and set up a fully automated booking and payment system, Schedulista, and integrated it with Stripe. Most importantly, we set up email automation that occurs one day after the yoga class requesting a review from first-timers.
