Examples of Search Performance
Below, you’ll see a couple of reports directly from Google Search Console (which clients invite us to). In a nutshell, the screenshots show two metrics: impressions and clicks. It’s for the last three months compared to the same three months a year ago.
LEWIS Scaffold Towers
LEWIS Scaffold Towers is the market leader when it comes to mobile scaffold towers for confident DIYers and tradespeople working at height.
Before we started working with the company, they were already highly visible on Google, Bing and Yahoo. This was largely due to all the efforts Mark, the director, and members have his family put in over the years.
However, there was a huge amount of technical errors and warnings that needed fixing, plenty of internal linking opportunities, and effective implementation of heading tags on product category pages were required, to name a few.
We spoke to Mark the other day as part of our monthly chats and updates, and he mentioned sales from SEO are 50% of his business from about a 1/3. This is due to around 20% growth in clicks.
Darlington Diecast
We’ve written a case study about Darlington Diecast here, but it’s due for an update as we’ve worked with them for 2-years or so.
As the name somewhat suggests, this company sells diecast models, particularly vintage collectables that can sell for over £400 a pop. So, most products are on-off items, which meant that optimising each of them individually would be an ineffective use of their budget. We suggested training them on best practices, so each product has the best chance of performing once uploaded.
Meanwhile, we regularly run technical audits and fix them as we go, as well as optimise product category pages to drive more traffic to their site. From April to June 2023 (the time of writing), their traffic had by 54% compared to the same period last year with 3,290 visitors. Sales have also increased to a healthy number.
