Herne Bay Festival (29th July to 26th August 2023)

The Herne Bay Festival is a 5-week program that includes live music performances, art exhibitions, dance shows, theatrical productions, street performances, workshops, sports activities, food stalls, and family-friendly events. It is an opportunity for local artists, musicians, performers, and organisations to showcase their talents and engage with the community.

Herne Bay Jazz Festival (19th and 20th August 2023)

The Herne Bay Jazz and Swing Festival is an annual event showcasing over 20 hours of jazz performances against the beautiful backdrop of the seaside. The festival aims to make this music accessible to the local community and visitors by eliminating the usual expenses associated with it. The 2023 program focuses on inclusivity and features a diverse range of new and established performers in various jazz styles. Throughout the event, there are free workshops for children and adults to explore their creativity. 

Herne Bay Classic Car Show (Unavailable in 2023)

Organised by Classic Music and Motors, The Herne Bay Classic Car Show is an amazing gathering of classic car enthusiasts and showcases a wide array of vintage and classic automobiles. The show provides a platform for car owners to display their meticulously restored and preserved vehicles, allowing visitors to admire the beauty and craftsmanship of these iconic cars. Attendees have the opportunity to explore the different makes and models, ranging from elegant vintage cars to stylish sports cars. It’s a wonderful celebration of automotive history and a treat for car enthusiasts of all ages. Throughout the event, there’s lots of music and business stalls to enhance the overall experience.

Herne Bay Farmers’ Market (2nd Sunday of Every Month)

The Herne Bay Farmers Market is a platform for local farmers, growers, producers, and artisans to sell their products directly to the community. These markets often focus on fresh and locally sourced produce, including fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy products, baked goods, and more. It’s also an opportunity for residents and visitors to support local businesses, enjoy fresh food, and engage with the community.

Baytastic Herne Bay (30th July 2023)

Baytastic Herne Bay is a fun-filled event with plenty of free activities for adults and children alike. According to their poster, this year’s event will include:

  • Free wrestling
  • Free music
  • Free demos
  • Free classic car show
  • Traditional games area
  • Traditional free races
  • Free selfie area
  • Food court
  • Local stalls and community groups
  • Bouncy castles and funfair rides 

Kent Tribute Festival (27th August 2023)

Kent Tribute Festival is a fantastic day out for the family and a fabulous fundraiser for the Strode Park Foundation. Beyond the music in tribute to famous artists, there’s a range of activities. From bouncy castles to reptile displays, face painting to a refreshing cocktail of beverages. 

Herne Bay Pier

Thanks to the Herne Bay Pier Trust, there are many more events than those listed above. While the charity’s involved in some of them, they host a fair few events throughout the year.cThese include a reggae disco, tributes, and a Christmas market.

The King’s Hall

The King’s Hall has a rich history and has hosted a wide range of events, including concerts, theatre performances, dance shows, exhibitions and other social gatherings. The venue offers a stage, seating or standing areas, audiovisual equipment, lighting facilities, and other amenities necessary for hosting various events. It has undergone renovations and updates over time to ensure it meets modern standards while preserving its historic charm.
